Rick's career has been influenced from many directions with his live performances beginning back in the 70's rock bands and cabaret show-bands; plus a two year stint with a country outfit 'The Tennessee's' they had a hectic schedule which meant performing every night of the week. As this didn't suit his lifestyle at that point Rick moved on to the pop scene forming his own band Step On It This proved a challenge as pop bands even the well known ones have so many line-up changes, but Rick kept plucking away at the scene and his success in clubland is well documented amongst fellow musicians, entertainers and promoters during the 80's and 90's. Occasionally Rick performed with old buddies whenever they needed the services of a singer or guitarist or keyboard/synth or a bass player. The late 80's early
90's saw Rick joining an outfit called Shooter which was formed
from Chicory Tip who had the #1 chart single 'Son of the Father'
and the legendary musical Hair and enjoyed staying with them for several
years. Rick eventually left behind the group scene picking up the country music influences gained from his father and at a tender age. Rick's father was a fine singer and guitar picker, and played all the greats in music which would include songs by ' Johnny Cash' Hank Williams Snr' Hank Locklin Rick's ambition to
become a solo entertainer came about in 1995 For the year 2001 Rick is to concentrate on pleasing as many listening and dancing audiences as possible in the UK with some of his own compositions and cover versions of great's of country music, both modern and traditional. Rick uses his guitar and Yamaha synth/keyboards which gives live performances the full sound that today's audiences demand. Fellow artists use some of Rick's music in their own shows and his own
CDs and Tapes are on sale at his venues. |
