Frontier & Ronny J Morson Billy
Frank and Dave Gray are New Frontier. A chance meeting after
10 years brought them together. They had previously worked
in bands with record contracts, on theatre shows and writing
songs recorded by US artists. They found they had the same
musical tastes and New Frontier was started in the mid-1990s
as a vehicle for country material aimed at the US market.
Ronny J Morson is a UK based country singer and songwriter.
He has successfully toured for many years and released his
own albums for sale in the UK. |

O'Dea somewhat a veteran of the Midlands
music scene. Since his days fronting the torch bearers of
country tinged rock n roll here in the Midlands The Love Hounds,
Gary has delivered a no-nonsense approach and a collection

Okeh
Wranglers roots lie close to the pioneering
rockabilly styles of 1950's masters such as Carl Perkins,
and Roy Orbison's original band, The Teen kings - acoustic
rhythm guitar and bass, with a strong beat centred around
guitar, in the fashion of Chet Atkins (among others). Add
to this equation country fiddle, accordion, steel guitar and
a second lead guitar, and the potential is there for some
fairly off the wall rocking country music.
Finally things evolved into a full family band (around 1994)
including Pete jnr. on steel guitar with Louise taking over
on accordion. The setup was completed when Irene joined in
1996, on steel (with Pete jnr. going over to drums).

by many of his fans and country writers alike. When it comes

sings a ballad. Although a singer/songwriter in his own
right he has a vocal range that allows him to cover songs

are a pofessional pure country duo. Their
repertoire consists of both modern and traditional songs,
making them the ideal choice for any occasion.
Previously with Highway Connection and later, the popular,
Thrillbillies, Neil is no newcomer to the country circuit,
his quick wit and “off the cuff” humour; along
with his mellow voice has kept him in the “biz”
for over 25 years. The better looking half of the duo is Heather.
Formerly with bands such as Footloose and Catalina, she is
an excellent lead guitarist and harmony singer, as well as
occasionally taking over from Neil on lead vocal.

TRADING
WITH THE NATIVES were formed in the
autumn of 1989. Initially a six-piece, the band presented
a contemporary edge, illustrating not only the instrumental
talents of the band but also a distinctive vocal/harmony sound
- something that they still concentrate on today. At that
time they were one of the few British country bands playing
predominantly modern material. The Natives became a five piece
in October 1991, settling on a line-up featuring a female
vocalist. The band's first cassette, "Restless",
was released in October 1992. Appearances at both the Americana
and Strumpshaw Festivals and successful mini tours of the
west country and Yorkshire followed, as well as appearances
at a number of the holiday camp festivals. The summer of 1994
culminated with The Natives' inclusion in the "Way Out
West" Records release "The Best of New British Country
- Declaration of Independence". |
